This temple is located at Borobudur District. South of Magelang in the Province of Jawa Tengah. (central Java), Indonesia.
The expression of experts who had been studying Borobudur Temple varied some way. Bernet Kempers’ expression was Borobudur is Borobudur, meaning that Borobudur Temple is very unique in her own way. Nieuwenkamp (an artist) imagined Borobudur as a big lotus flower bud ready to bloom which was floating on a lake. Nieuwkamps’ imagination was supported by N. Rangkuti (1987) that from the air, the Borobudur Temple looks floating.

From the geological studies, experts were able to prove that Borobudur area was one time a big lake. Most of the villages around Borobudur Temple were at the same altitude, 235 meters above the sea level. The same altitude included the Pawon Temple and Mendut Temple. Thus the area under 235 meters altitude was below the lake water level.

Based on the inscription dated 842 A.D., Capparis suggested that Borobudur was one time a place for praying. The inscription stated a phrase such as: “Kawulan i Bhumi Sambhara”. Kawulan means the origin of holiness. Bhumi Sambhara is a name of a place in Borobudur. Paul Mus stated that Borobudur Temple had the structure of stupa (conical form) with double expression. As a whole, the Borobudur Temple was an open-flat stupa but on the other hand, the temple expressed the idea of a closed world.

The latter expression could be felt when one is already inside the temple. Whenever a person is inside the temple, his or her view will be limited to high walls full on relief’s, the veranda is always squared in such away that once could not see other parts of the temple, even in a same floor. The same feeling happened if one stood on arupadhatu round platform, he or she will have a wider view only on that level but are not able to see the lower level nor the upper level like the one on arupadhatu and kamandhatu.

It could be said that Borobudur is a symbol of cosmic mountain covered by the sky roof, a specific world that could be reached through isolated alleys as stages. The closed structural design of the temple expressed the concept of a closed world, not just a technical reasons as had been suggested by other experts. (Daud AT, 1987).

Borobudur was built by Sanmaratungga in the eighth century and belongs to Buddha Mahayana. Borobudur was revealed by Sir Thomas Stanford Raffles in 1814. The temple was found in ruined condition and was buried.

The overall height was forty-two meters but was only 34.5 meters after restoration and had the dimension of 123 x 123 meters (15.129 square meters). There were ten floors. The first floor up to the sixth floor was square from. And the seventh to the tenth floor were round form.

Borobudur is facing to the East with a total of 1,460 panels (two meters wide each). Total size of the temple walls was 2,500 square meters, full of relief. The total number of panels with relief was 1,212. According to investigations, the total number of Buddha statue was 504 including the intact and damaged statues. The temple-undergone restoration from 1905 to 1910 and the last restoration were done in 1973 to 1983.

Source: indahnesia.com

Features Of Holland America Alaska Cruises

Author: Denise Walker

Holland America Alaska Cruises are the best cruises to Alaska. It is just simply amazing and the maze of canyons, fissures, and gorges intertwine and merge to create one of the world’s most amazing natural wonders. You can actually see the different colors of the rock in the many layers that make up the canyon not to mention the way the sun reflects on them, and then the shadow, affects their color, which is awe inspiring in and of itself. The beauty of the Canyon is one thing, the size is another and it is just as amazing if not more so.

The canyon is huge and that may even be an understatement. The canyon measures between 10 and 15 miles wide and is more than 200 miles long. At some parts of the canyon it measures nearly a mile to the bottom. Can you imagine looking over the edge of the canyon and the ground being a mile below? It truly is one of the must see places in the world, let alone the United States. The Grand Canyon National Park includes the Grand Canyon and other sites and is located north of Flagstaff, Arizona, by about 75 miles. It will take about an hour and a half to get to the north rim’s visitor center from Flagstaff, or if you are in Las Vegas plan on a five hour drive. The south rim’s visitor center requires a 200 mile drive although it is only 10 miles away if you could fly your car over!

The south rim is the best place to visit if you are only visiting one of the rims. That is because the views are outstanding and it has more facilities than the north rim center. More tourists visit the south rim because the north rim is closed from October to May. If you are a backpacker or don’t like crowds then you might prefer the north rim. The Grand Canyon Village is a great place to stay when visiting because there are hotels, souvenir shops, and restaurants near the south rim.

The best thing to do when visiting the Grand Canyon is to allow yourself plenty of time. There is a lot to see and although it might look like you can do it all in one day you may not be able to and really enjoy it. So, give yourself plenty of time when you are at the Grand Canyon so you can see all the rims, head down to the basin, whitewater raft, and just enjoy this beautiful natural wonder.

There is a website that has great information on USA Vacations and Unique Travel Spots Listed State By State and Season, the website is called: Seasonal Vacation Spots, and can be found at this url:

http://www.seasonalvacationspots.com

By Robert W. However, the island is better known as an excellent vacation holiday destination and a major tourist attraction.

Tourists who have visited this South East Asian island will tell you that Bali exudes a certain magical charm and that is why, some people call Bali, the Island of Gods. After all, gods live in paradise don't they?

You will be pleasantly impressed by the many stunningly beautiful tourist attractions and the charming local people. If you are a scuba diver, you will be pleased to know that Bali is one of the top scuba diving destinations in the world.

Bali presents itself as a modern paradox because its ancient and traditional culture is still very much alive amidst modern living. While the basic conservatism of the Balinese people has enabled them to preserve many of their ancient customs, culture and religion, it has never hindered the acceptance of the new and innovative modern technological advancement.

The island is indeed a feast for the eye for tourists on holiday vacation in Indonesia. As the island is situated near the equator, it has almost equal amount of time for rain and sunshine making its environment very suitable for human inhabitation and as a result, Bali has been inhabited and civilized since ancient times.

Bali is also the only island in "middle Indonesia" that has more or less uninterrupted cultural continuity for hundreds of years. It is of this reason, Bali is the only part of Indonesia that remains "Hindu" and is still retaining elements of fusion of ethnic and Hindu cultures of more than a thousand years of cultural tradition.

When the island was colonized by the Dutch at the beginning of last century, the Dutch colonial masters were so impressed by the traditions of the Balinese that a concerted effort was made to preserve the island's mystical culture.

The Balinese society is a strong and cohesive one because the local people promote communal and family values. Feelings of alienation from parents and friends which are common in the western world are almost unheard of in Bali.

Children are carried everywhere or strapped to their mother's back until they are at least three months old. Religious rituals are performed regularly to keep the children safe, healthy and to protect them from harmful spirits. Every aspect of village life is organized in such detail that the individual's responsibilities and rights are meticulously defined by the Balinese tradition.

The Balinese are emotionally strong people and take the unfortunate incidents in their stride. The people are eternal optimists and believe that their Island of Gods enjoys a special place in the grander scheme of things. This is another reason why the local population can bounce back from the tragic terrorist attacks so quickly. Want to visit paradise? Then include Bali as your next holiday vacation destination for its many tourists attractions.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/travel-articles/bali-island-tourist-attraction-219048.html

About the Author:
Chris Chew is a frequent traveler. Although you certainly deserve to splurge every now and then, you might want to consider doing something altogether different this time for your time off.

To begin with think of how much hassle is involved in a traditional vacation - the travel, the packing, the tight schedules, the crowds, trying to find a bathroom. After going through all of this, you often need a vacation from the vacation itself.

Perhaps you might want some more self-fulfilling vacation ideas like the ones outlined here. Take your pick, or add one of your own.

Charity Work

If you like to meet new people, be active and make a difference, consider charity work as legitimate vacation ideas. There are many charities locally that help in the community, or nationally for which you take trips to other locations. Perhaps you might like to volunteer to walk dogs at a shelter for two weeks. Or you could contact Habitat For Humanity and see if you can help build low-cost housing. Your local church, senior center or YMCA might have charity work trips or programs available. You never know what charity vacation ideas are out there until you look up for it.

Self-Education Trips

Ever wanted to know how to hand glide or paint or just about anything else? Consider taking education vacation ideas. Many community colleges and YMCAs offer one or two week courses on just about anything you can think of. Also, you could look online to any travel agency, spa or teaching course. Perhaps you always wanted to learn how to read Tarot cards. Although you won't become an expert in a week, you will get to know the basics in online or in person seminars. Depending on your budget, you could incorporate a workshop or seminar into a trip far away.

Staying At Home

This is an option that almost consistently produces the best vacation ideas for you and your home. What is the point of a vacation, anyway? It's to relax and recharge. If you do a lot of traveling for your job, then a vacation at home is ideal. If, however, you never get out of the neighborhood, then a vacation at home will be the last thing you need. Getting a change of scenery can shake up your routine, give you new ideas and make you appreciate just how great your home town is.

If you are thinking of adopting a pet or making minor home repair projects or trying a new prescription medicine - even things like getting the carpets cleaned - you could plan your vacation at home around these events. These events can be rather stressful on your regular schedule - but doing them during your vacation at home makes the transition a lot smoother.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/travel-articles/alternative-vacation-ideas-that-cost-you-almost-nothing-219077.html

About the Author:
Prayank is a college grad and likes to share his views on various activities he is involved with. The number of romantic honeymoon getaways is staggering and when it comes time to choose the honeymoon getaway for you and your special someone you need to make sure you choose one that fits your relationship. If you are cold weather people then a honeymoon getaway in the Bahamas may not be for you.

The honeymoon getaway business is huge and your options are literally endless. For the perfect honeymoon getaway you can try to book it yourself over the internet but I am going to suggest that you work with a professional travel agent to set up your honeymoon getaway. There are too many variables, too many ways for things to go wrong, and too many things to remember for a person with no travel experience to handle themselves. The opportunity for forgetting to make the correct arrangements is too large for such an important event so do the right thing and get a professional to take care of the arrangements for you.

I only have one honeymoon getaway experience but it was a wonderful one and I offer it as a suggestion if you are looking for ideas. I spent my honeymoon at one of the many resorts in the Pocono Mountains in the state of Pennsylvania. Aside from some very interesting room amenities like a champagne glass for a whirlpool bath and a fireplace in our room, the Pocono Mountains is a beautiful place to start off your marriage and the resorts there are all very beautifully and very comfortable. I can guarantee you that a second honeymoon in the Pocono Mountains is not too far off in the future.

Your honeymoon is something you should remember fondly for the rest of your life so take your time when selecting where to go and be sure to get the help of a professional travel agent when you are making your arrangements. There is nothing more satisfying than a wonderful honeymoon but there is also nothing more frustrating than a poorly planned getaway. So invest the extra money into a travel agent and then sit back and relax as you know that your honeymoon getaway will be something that you will remember for the rest of your life.

If you are a Brahmin parent looking for brahmin brides or grooms please check the url http://www.brahminsmatrimony.com

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/travel-articles/honeymoon-getaways-ideas-217754.html

About the Author:
James Gunaseelan writes for Leading matrimonial portal for Brahmins brides and grooms

The Benefits of a Short Break in France

Author: Adam Singleton

Every year thousands of Brits decide to shun the national hobby of visiting the local D.I.Y. store on a bank holiday or long weekend and opt for a well earned break instead. Many people choose to stay in this country, but if you are prepared to hop over the Channel you can transport yourself into another world entirely – and enjoy the many delights the City of Light has to offer.

As France’s capital city, Paris is chock full of ways to spend long weekends away from day to day life in Britain, whatever your age and whether or not you take the family with you. There are the classic not to be missed sights of course, including the Eiffel Tower – offering the best panoramic view of Paris should you have the stomach to make it to the top – the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe (or triumphal arch) and the famous Champs Elysees. But if you only visit the well known locations you would be missing out on a feast of other possibilities which fit perfectly into any relaxing sightseeing weekend away.

If the purpose of your trip is to have a short break away to relax and unwind, then a river trip along the Seine is worth taking time over - simply for the alternative views of Paris that it affords. Whether by day or by night, the stunning Parisian architecture – untouched by the World Wars – won’t fail to impress.

Paris holds a real attraction for Britons simply because it is so close by. Weekend breaks take you over a stretch of the English Channel that is only some twenty one miles wide, and into a country with very different views, routines and habits to our own. Paris itself, although much smaller than London, makes up for its lack of size by packing lots of activities and sights into its smaller area.

What’s more, no matter where in Britain you live, you’ll find it easy to hop on a Eurostar train, catch a flight into the capital or even drive over and make use of your car while you’re there. Be warned though – if you want to see the Arc de Triomphe by car, you won’t be insured for attempting to negotiate the huge Place Charles de Gaulle roundabout which surrounds it. If you are an even slightly nervous driver, you’d be better off admiring the arch from a distance – on foot.

If it’s a relaxing stroll you’re after, you can make sure you don’t miss out on some of the less well known sights by trying out a walking tour. Some of these are designed especially with children in mind, so it’s worth exploring the possibilities each tour has to offer before booking.

In short, Paris offers a unique snapshot of French life, and it is likely to remain a popular destination for a short weekend break for the foreseeable future.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/travel-articles/the-benefits-of-a-short-break-in-france-215715.html
About the Author:
Adam Singleton is an online freelance journalist from Scotland. Whatever the name, it does the same thing and that is it will cover your loan repayments up to a predetermined amount if you should lose your income by being out of work through accident, long term sickness or unemployment.

However, loan payment protection insurance isn’t suitable for everyone as there are exclusions which could stop you from making a claim which many who bought their cover either knowingly or unknowingly found they were mis-sold their policy after taking it alongside their loan from the high street lender.

If you want the safety net that loan payment protection insurance can give then it is essential that you purchase the cover wisely and understand the many exclusions which can stop you from claming on the policy. It is also essential that you realise that premiums for the cover do vary widely from provider to provider and this can end up adding thousands onto the cost of the loan and turn what was a cheap loan into a very expensive one after the cost of the protection is added onto it.

A specialist standalone provider will typically be able to provide the cheapest loan payment protection insurance premiums for a quality product and your peace of mind. Historically, the high street banks and lenders charge way over the odds for loan payment protection insurance, that is why it is important that you shop around for the cover.

It can give you valuable peace of mind and stop you from getting into serious debt problems if you didn’t have the money to meet your monthly loan repayments. It does however have to be given careful consideration that it does meet your circumstances, if you are self-employed, retired or suffer from a pre-existing medical condition that would keep you off work then a loan payment protection insurance policy probably wouldn’t be in your best interests.

About The Author:
Simon Burgess is Managing Director of the award-winning British Insurance (http://www.britishinsurance.com), a specialist provider of low cost income payment protection insurance (PPI), mortgage payment protection insurance (MPPI) and loan payment protection insurance.

Residential Bridging Loan Offers Instant Financial Ridge

Eva Baldwyn

More often than not, a borrower gets struck at any financial fix when he may exercise a deal devil. You can arrange for a private African safari with known fellow adventurers or book an African safari with a travel company. Whatever be your choice, the onus is on knowing the basics.

You need to decide which part of Africa you would like to travel. This is an important decision for which a guide is required unless you have visited Africa before. However, before choosing a guide make sure that he or the company is able to provide knowledge of your chosen area, for example, if you are planning to visit Kruger, your guide should know about the whereabouts of Kruger. Many times, it has happed that people have traveled with inexperienced guides and have returned back with a bad experience. You surely won’t want to be one of them. Isn’t it?

Decide what you want your African safari to be and how your chosen company will cater to this. A best way would be to use the Internet to find all information about what constitutes a good African safari. You will come across many companies who prepare African safaris and you can contact these companies directly. This is needed to make sure that you get all you want from your chosen safari company and you can simply spend a luxury safari in Africa.

Budget is a major concern in African safaris. Decide what type of safari you can afford. Depending on your budget, you can seek for a travel company that can guide you for an African safari. Ideally, you do some thorough research on the internet about Africa and famous Africa safaris to ensure that your chosen company makes a plan that includes what you are looking for.

Experience counts and so does your age. Hence, plan your African safari according to what your age permits. This is especially important if you are in a group safari. If you are a middle-aged person, it may be a disaster if you book a safari with a company that services a younger clientele. In addition, if you are looking for a quiet and mature group to travel with it is advisable that you find out before you make any payment or agreement.

About the author:
Myself webmaster of http://www.airlineexpo.com , a safari holidays information directory of african safari, safari holidays africa and holidays safari.

Article Source: http://www.Free-Articles-Zone.com

Get Information on Business Air Travel

By Anirban Bhattacharya

Business air travel is not a part of commercial air travel and is treated as a separate entity by the FRA, which even has a separate part to handle Chartered flights. In essence, chartered flights are outside normal schedules, by a hiring arrangement with a particular customer. Most scheduled airline companies also operate charter flights but are not considered or classified as charter airlines.

In context of Business air travel, charter flights have acquired a more specific role with the sole function being to transport executives, sports teams, and anyone whose schedule does not coincide with the schedule in which commercial aircrafts operate.

Air charter travel started becoming popular in the late 1990s, when chartered aircrafts moved into mainstream corporate aviation for a number of factors:

The popularity of very light jets and executive jets popularized the concept of business air travel. These small jets operate with lower inventory and downtime, which add up to bring down the cost of flight substantially. Cessna, Eclipse, Adam Aircraft, and Embraer are the forerunners in executive jet manufacturing. These jets are small, and are retrofitted to operate like an office.

Communication: The 9/11 incident has forced the FAA to impose a number of restrictions on commercial airline travel. For example, use of laptop computers and telephones are completely banned on commercial aircrafts. However, charter flights are regulated by a different part of the FRA, where rules are not so stringent. This flexibility is an added bonus to the corporate world, who now have got the liberty to stay in constant contact even when on the air.

Flexibility: Most commercial airlines operate of preset routes and revenue earning destinations. Hence anyone who has to reach a destination that is not revenue earning would have a tough time arranging for breaks journey. Private charter aircrafts has solved these problems.

Business air travel is expected to increase ten fold over the next two decades and private charter companies are preparing well for the bang. As more and more companies are entering this arena, rates are becoming more competitive and affordable.

About the author:
Myself webmaster of http://www.airlineexpo.com , a air charter services information directory for business air travel, private & corporate air charter.

Article Source: http://www.Free-Articles-Zone.com

World's highest battlefield opened to tourists

canada.com

NEW DELHI - India has opened up a strategic glacier in the Himalayas to tourists, the Defence Ministry said.
At 5,000 to 7,000 metres above sea level, the Siachen glacier is the highest battlefield in the world. It receives few tourists as accessibility is very difficult and the drive is a long bumpy trip, even by 4WD. The 30 kilometre trip crosses half a dozen rivers as it winds its way through dense forest and a runner plantation. As visitors near the park the potholes just get larger and the ride more unpleasant. It is perhaps unnecessary to point out how beneficial this is for the wildlife of the area.

Named after the highest mountain in the area, Gunung Betiri, the park consists of one of the last large areas of lowland rainforest on Java. Amongst this are mangroves, lowland swamp forest and beach formations.

It is from this reserve that continued reports of Javan tigers persist. These claims come from park staff and locals, but some experts suspect they are erroneous leopard sightings. In 1972 only seven Javan tigers were known to be Meru Betiri, and even as it was declared a reserve, (that very year), the area was under attack by agricultural development. A 1979 census located the tracks of only three tigers. Since that time all reports have been unable to be substantiated. It took until 1997 for the government to declare the area a National Park. These actions were far too late for the Javan tiger.

Experiments are to be carried out using infrared remote cameras as this would seem to be the only likely method of locating any tigers. Authorities are prepared to move several thousand natives from the local area if required. For these people the park provides honey, bamboo, rattan, wood, grass, food and 300 different types of medicinal plants.

Barking deer, wild boar, Banteng, sambar, Javan leaf monkeys, long-tailed macaques, pangolin, black giant squirrels, large flying foxes, reticulated pythons, Javanese eagles and water monitors all occupy the area. Felids at Meru Betiri include the leopard and the small leopard cat.

Conservation efforts are primarily concentrated on the nearby turtle nesting beaches, particularly at Sukamade, where the turtles are monitored and protected during egg laying. Green, leatherback, hawksbill, Olive Ridley and loggerhead turtles uses the same beaches.

Tagging of turtles has been taking place for some years. Together with the use of hatcheries, this has seen the populations stabilize and increase. Arriving between 9 p.m. and midnight, the turtles crawl determinedly up the beach, deposit up to 100 eggs beneath half a metre of sand and then return to the water; this takes some hours. Turtle Wardens collect the eggs and bury them where they will be secure from poachers and leopards. These big cats wait patiently in the hope of an opportunity to grab an easy meal.

Hatching takes two months, and if the hatchling survives the precarious 25 years to adulthood it may live to see 150. To increase the chance of survival the newborn turtles are collected and kept in tanks until they are stronger.

Meru Betiri National Park now faces ravaging by, not one, but by three separate mining companies. 80,000 tons of gold deposits have been found located within the area of east Java and three, possibly four, companies have joined forces for an application to mine the area. This has already been approved by local government officials who described the land as a local asset to be exploited by third parties. Before making their decision officials enquired about employment opportunities, data on the findings, and what income there would be for the region. There was no recorded mention of wildlife conservation.

Until recent times, the primary focus at Meru Betiri has been that of conservation. This has changed with the mining opportunity and increased promotion of tourism for this area. With ever increasing demands for 'Adventure Tourism', and thrill-seeking, efforts are being made to attract more visitors. This will inevitably be at the expense of the wildlife in the area.

Ijen volcano and Kawah Ijen sulphur lake

Crater of Ijen volcano, containing the most acid volcanic lake in the world.

Deeply eroded and altered crater wall of Ijen volcano.

Webcams

One of the most incredible inventions I've ever come across is the web cam and its process of video conferencing. This is just so futuristic I can't believe they really exist and are readily available to anyone with the Internet, speakers, and the right software. I'm not absolutely sure but doesn't this spell the end of telephones? Now we can have conversations with people on the other side of the world, and see their face moving as we hear them speaking live.

Security Recommendations

             Trojan Horse Attacks...
Counterfeit websites may also attempt to trick Users into downloading a Trojan horse with the objective of gaining control of victim's computer.
The email attachment in fraudulent e-mails usually is a Trojan horse. Again, the objective of a Trojan horse may be to gain control of victim's computer.

Keep your operating system and applications updated
Use Windows Update to make sure you have the latest security patches installed. Also check for updates to your application programs, especially Microsoft Office.

Use a hardware and/or software firewall
A firewall can protect your computer from malicious traffic. A hardware firewall/router (such as the many offerings of companies like Linksys, D-Link, SMC, and others) acts as a barrier between the outside world and your computer. A software firewall, such as ZoneAlarm, performs that function to a lesser degree but can also block malicious programs on your computer from sending data out to the Internet. Windows XP includes a simple firewall, but it is disabled by default. The free version of ZoneAlarm does a very nice job.
             Do not run untrusted applications
Running any program that arrives via email or that was downloaded from the Internet can be dangerous. Only run applications that you wish to grant complete access to your computer and the data contained on it.

Use an Anti-Virus program
If you follow all of the above recommendations a virus will have difficulty infecting your computer. However, since a computer virus can be a vehicle for a criminal to gain total control of your computer and thereby any information stored on, sent by, or received by your computer, it is prudent to install antivirus software from a reputable source and run it regularly. The egg-laying is subject to seasons, and at times the beach can be awash with turtles, especially during the full moon. Beach guards collect the eggs shortly after they have been laid and rebury them elsewhere where they are safe from poachers and such animals as leopards. The eggs hatch in about two months after which the young turtles are tended in special tanks at Sukamade until they are strong enough to survive in the ocean. Today, more than 2,500 turtles have been tagged and recorded since the beach became a protected area in 1972. The huge creatures which struggle from the moonlight surf are not without problems, as predators on and off the shore will devour most of their eggs and offsprings, but at least they are spared the human poacher. If homosapiens does lurk in the shadows, it is only the curious. Sukamade is still very isolated. To get there requires a 4-wheel drive vehicle, and above all perseverence. Main access is through a 50 km stretch of extremely rough road, passing rubber, coffee, and cocoa plantations. As yet there are no bridges crossing the the rivers, which, though negotiable during the dry season, can become very difficult to cross during the rainy season. Despite the discomfort, however, the trip may be rewarding. Two full days are needed for the 2-way journey with an overnight stop in Sukamade where limited accommodafon is available

How to reach Sukamade:

Surabaya - Probolinggo (99 km) : bus/train
Probolinggo - Jember (99 km) : bus/train
Jember - Jajag (74 km) : bus/train
Jajag - Sukamade (62 km) : taxi

A conservation effort has been underway for some years at Sukamade Beach, where four types of sea turtle come regularly to nest. Stability of the turtle population has been helped by a careful system of tagging and monitoring, as well as the use of special hatcheries. Watching these giant creatures emerge from the surf and struggle-up the beach to lay their eggs on a moonlit night is a unique and unforgettable experience, and one which is certain to ensure Sukamade's ever growing popularity.

Hotel in Surabaya

<table style="width: 433px; That time Kembang Jepun had two functions, as a business centre and downtown. In the next century Kembang Jepun as "Wall Street" doesn't change, but Kembang Jepun as downtown already change with Tunjungan. In 21st century the role of Tunjungan change by modern malls at side cities.

Situation always changes. Sometimes really change, sometimes just roll like wheels. “The Sinking” of Kembang Jepun and Tunjungan, make Surabaya as city had lost the important icons.

That’s why, recreated Kembang Jepun as new icons Surabaya city. So, if other big cities in the world always have a unique part of town as Kya-Kya (walk street), Surabaya with a new Kembang Jepun will be exist. This icon named with “The Centre Kya-Kya Kembang Jepun” (PKKJ Surabaya).

Kya-Kya is Chinese language that’s mean Walk Street. It is a vast mountain, an eruption of massive proportions blew off its top leaving a huge caldera in which two peaks are located. One is the active volcano of Bromo and the other is the non-active of Mount Batok.

The uniqueness of the area's characteristic is a reminiscent of a moonscape rather than anything related to the earth offers such breathtaking experiences, like observing sunrises and gazing into the volcano's crater

Mt. Bromo is about 2,382 meters above sea level. Time has filled the caldera with grey sand and this expanse, which you walk across en route to Bromo itself, is known as the Sand Sea. It is about 10 km.

Across the Sand Sea is Mount Batok with its almost perfect cone. To the south, Mount Semeru, the highest mountain in Java provides a fining backdrop for this unearthly scene. While crossing the Sand Sea, low-lying fog which often envelops the caldera's floor, adds to the mystery of the surroundings. As the temperature drops several degrees, the combination of cold air and the strange echoing of horse's hoofs creates a fantastic sensation of walking across a huge frozen lake. Temperatures at the top of Mt. Bromo range about 5 to 18 degrees Celsius.

In the south, there is a rolling upland plateau dissected by valleys and dotted with several small scenic lakes extending to the foot of Mt. Semeru, a towering grey forest-skirted cone dominating the southern landscape. The offering ceremony of Kasodo is held each year by Tenggerese on the 14th day of full moon Kesodo (Tenggerese Calendar). Inhabitants of Tengger Mountain gather at the rim of Mt. Bromo's active crater to present annual offerings of rice, fruits, vegetables, flowers, livestock, and other local products to the God of the mountain. As adherents of religion combining elements of Hinduism and Mahayana Buddhism, they ask for blessing from the supreme God Hyang Widi Wasa.

Tourists are driven to the small town of Ngadisari, about six km north-east of Bromo. It is the base camp of the expedition. Necessities for the trip include a torch, warm clothing and some alcoholic drinks as a protection against the freezing temperature which hovers between zero to five degrees Celsius (33 to 41 degrees Fahrenheit). From Ngadisari, the ascent to the crater takes about two hours on foot. On horse-back (ponies can be hired) the excursion takes about an hour and a half. Excursions normally start around midnight.

Ngadisari also has hotel facilities. This enables trippers to stay the night and get up somewhat later than midnight for the trek to Bromo. The last stage of the trip is the flight of steps leading to the rim of Bromo's crater, and, finally, the incomparable view of the rising in the east.

Surfing at plengkung Beach, east Java

For You was like surfing and wishing a experience cleansing adrenalin, you can visit to a beach in East Java.

A moment forget concerning Bali, momentary forget inviting wave in Kuta the crowdedness with all foreign and local surfer.
